Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is India's premier aerospace and defense company, owned by the Government of India. HAL designs, manufactures, and maintains aircraft, helicopters, engines, and avionics for India's armed forces. The company is building India's indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Tejas) and the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). HAL is listed on the BSE and NSE and has seen its market capitalization surge as India accelerates defense indigenization under the 'Make in India' initiative.
